After a year away from our screens Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is finally back with another case in The Lincoln Lawyer season two, which casually dropped on Netflix at the end of last week (6th July).

ICYMI the first time around The Lincoln Lawyer is based on the series of books of the same name by Michael Connelly and follows defence attorney Mickey as he operates his business from the back of his Lincoln.

In the new season Mickey is now famous with a thriving business following Trevor Elliot's acquittal at the end of season one. For his latest case he's defending new character Lisa Trammell (Lana Parilla), a chef, who has been accused of murdering local developer Mitchell Bondurant (Clint Carmichael). But things are a little complicated as Lisa and Mickey hooked up before he took on her case, awkward.

Much of season two part one (part two is coming on 3rd August) is spent with Mickey trying to defend Lisa, who insists she is innocent despite the evidence piling up against her.

And whilst Mickey believes Lisa didn't kill Mitchell, viewers of the series aren't so sure, with many of them theorising Lisa is not to be trusted and is in fact guilty of murdering Mitchell.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Lisa is guilty. She omits a lot of things and is very sneaky. I think she planned everything the day Mickey walked into her restaurant."

Another had a very interesting theory: "Lisa totally did it. It was premeditated. She saw the lawyer, who just got a murderer set free. Slept with him. Then killed the guy knowing she had a great lawyer in her pocket. Now she sold her rights and will make $$$. Hoping to get a NG verdict."

Another agreed saying: "I believe Lisa killed that developer guy and intentionally befriended Mickey to get her out."

And another simply said: "I don’t trust Lisa." Fair enough.

So is it possible Lisa is not as innocent as she appears? Well it's plausible she could have had something to do with Mitchell's murder, after all they had a longstanding feud because of Mitchell's plans to gentrify her building. There's then the photos of her outside Mitchell's building, the gardening gloves with blood on them and her agreement with podcaster Henry to make her story into a TV show, which all do seem a little suspicious.

But then again these clues could all have totally valid explanations, maybe Lisa cut herself on a thorn whilst gardening? Maybe she's hoping to have some legal funds by selling her story to Henry?

It seems we won't be finding out the truth of Lisa's motives until part two of season two drops on Netflix on 3rd August. Let the countdown begin!
