Lima opens outdoor gym

May 2—LIMA — The City of Lima has unveiled a new workout area for residents. The effort is a part of a national fitness campaign. The city announced the opening on its Lima Parks, Recreation and Forestry Facebook page on Thursday morning.

Lima native Taurus Fisher said he enjoys working out and will be using the equipment.

"I think this will be good for Lima," Fisher said. "I don't think a lot of people know about it. There will be a lot more people using it to work out. I believe that if you take care of your body, and body will take care of you."

The outdoor gym is located near the Ottawa River between Elizabeth and Main streets, south of the Lima Family YMCA.

The city of Lima will announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony at a later date.
