Lily Gladstone Stuns in Custom Gucci Gown at the 2024 Oscars
Lily Gladstone has been a standout on red carpets promoting her film Killers of the Flower Moon—and tonight at the Oscars, she did not disappoint.
Gladstone, wearing a midnight blue Gucci gown, made in collaboration with artist Joe Big Mountain of Ironhouse Quillwork, looked glamorous as she arrived at this year's event. The embroidered pattern paid tribute to Gladstone's heritage. Ahead of the Academy Awards, the actress teased that her outfit would be "museum worthy." They explained, "It's going to be just ongoing proof that Indigenous design belongs on red carpets with luxury fashion in a very centerpiece kind of way. I'm excited."
She accessorized her gown with Bulgari jewelry.
Gladstone's role as Mollie Burkhart in Killers of the Flower Moon earned the actor her first Oscar nomination, and if she wins, she will be the first Indigenous person to do so in an acting category. She already made history as the first Native American woman to be nominated for Best Actress. (Yalitza Aparicio, who is Indigenous Mexican, was nominated for her performance in the category Roma in 2019.)
Throughout this awards season, Gladstone has made history with her many wins. At the Golden Globes, she said, "this is for every rez kid, every little urban kid, every little Native kid out there who has a dream, who is seeing themselves represented and our stories told by ourselves in our own words, with tremendous allies and tremendous trust from with and from each other."
