Lily Cole just wore the most elegant outfit you can easily recreate at home

Lily Cole attended the UK premiere of 'Fashion Reimagined' at The Ham Yard Hotel last night, proving exactly why ballet flats are back on trend and here to stay.

The multi-hyphenate model-turned-actress nailed the art of elevated dressing, wearing a black ribbed fitted top with a high neck and long sleeves that boasted elegant flute-cuffs. She tucked it into a pair of black pleated culottes with white tights layered underneath and finished off with a pair of ballet flats adorned with a bow.

Comfortable shoes have been having their moment over the last year or so, with the return of loafers (preferably chunky if you want to be an It-girl) convincing the fashion set to eschew the possibly painful heels and keep feet firmly on the ground.

Street style icons like Hailey Bieber are major chunky loafer fans, but if the occasion requires a smarter agenda, ballet flats are key to comfort-chic. Lily Cole proves they are equally as stylish as loafers paired with a white sock or tights.

Royal sartorial fans went wild last summer when Princess Kate wore flat shoes to the races. Her Alicia slingback flats from Camilla Elphick flew off the shelves (unsurprisingly), but thankfully they’re back in stock and available in multiple colourways.

The premiere of ‘Fashion Reimagined’ was fitting yesterday considering it was the first day of London Fashion Week. The docu-film by designer Amy Powney (founder of sustainable cult brand Mother of Pearl) follows her mission “to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment and transform the way we engage with fashion”.

Also an environmental activist, Cole published her book Who Cares Wins, highlighting how our lives impact the planet,

Eco-conscious and an elevated dressing muse? Iconic
