Shoppers will be able to immerse themselves in the colorful, bedazzled and feathery world of Libertine at the shop, which kicks off Tuesday with a private party hosted by Hartig and C Magazine founder and editor Jennifer Smith.
Men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and archival pieces will be available to shop alongside exclusive Libertine holiday stockings and shoes and bags from recent collaborations with LeSportsac and Larroudé.
Home accessories such as candles, blankets and pillows will add to the gifting options, and same-day complimentary monograms will be available with purchase.
Hartig’s hand-embroidered, crystal-covered confections are more-is-more maximalism at its best, swell briskly at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Maxfield, among other retailers, and are favorites with collectors like Danielle Steel, Linda Fargo, and a female executive in the California casino industry he doesn’t want to name who owns at least 60 coats.
For his Libertine fall 2024 collection shown at New York Fashion Week, Hartig created photo-realistic prints of the view of L.A. landing at LAX at night, and continued his tradition of using text, excerpting a Lord Byron poem called “The Darkness” on tailored pieces. His crafty tendencies were on full display in a jacket completely covered in colorful oversize buttons, inspired by the bibs and bobs on 1920s Memory Jars, which he displays in his Hancock Park home that’s been featured on the cover of World of Interiors.
The Libertine Pop-up is open Dec. 10 to 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, at 7278 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles.
