One Direction Liam Payne and Cheryl are probably too busy settling into parenthood with their newborn baby son Bear to realise they could be facing a £200 after failing to register his birth.

The Mail on Sunday report the pair, who welcomed their first child on March 22, have not yet signed all the necessary paperwork associated with welcoming a baby, and haven't actually legally registered his birth. Oops.

Apparently, Cheryl and Liam failed to put their son's birth on record within the 42-day limit and are now five days overdue, meaning they could face a maximum fine of over £200.

To be fair, this might be because the pair took their time choosing their first son's name - with Liam finally confirming it as Bear last week with a tweet in response to Bear Grylls.

The Island star wrote: "Great choice! Love & blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure...", to which Liam replied: "Thanks man hope he grows with an ounce of your courage! Your a boss [sic]"

A source also told The Sun: ‘Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name. They spent over a week getting to know him first before deciding. They wanted to get to know him before they decided on the name.

"They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth. But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him. They love their little baby Bear Payne and are truly over the moon and loving being parents for the first time together."
