Liam Gallagher tells Noel: It's time to get 'the Big O back together'

Liam Gallagher has offered the olive branch to his brother Noel, saying the pair should finally get "the Big O back together" and stop "f****** about".

The former Oasis frontman and his brother went their separate ways when their band broke up in 2009, but Liam appears keen to fix their turbulent relationship.

He tweeted on Thursday: "Earth to noel listen up rkid I hear your doing gigs where people can't drink alcohol now that's the BeZarist thing you've done yet I forgive you now let's get the BIG O back together and stop f****** about the drinks are on me LG x."

The band were one of the biggest of the late 90s and 2000s, making musical history with hits such as Wonderwall and massive outdoor shows at Knebworth.

Don't Look Back In Anger also became a song of unity after the Manchester Arena attack - though Liam criticised his brother for not playing at the One Love tribute concert last summer.

Noel did play the famous song, however, when his band, the High Flying Birds, performed at the arena's reopening in September.

Despite insults in the press, talks of a reunion have grown in recent years, with 2016 documentary Supersonic a powerful reminder of the band's heyday.

In January, Liam claimed Noel was "desperate" to reform Oasis but that his brother's wife was blocking the idea.

He told Q magazine: "He's desperate to get Oasis back but he knows he's crossed that bridge.

"And he's not allowed to, his missus (Sara MacDonald) won't let him now, cos she's another one."

He added: "I know for a fact, deep down, he wants to be playing stadiums... You can only play stadiums when I'm there."

At February's NME Awards, Liam said he no longer spoke to his "clown" brother.

"He's too busy writing cosmic pop and sharpening his scissors," the 45-year-old told reporters.

Noel has yet to respond to his brother's offer but plenty have fans have waded in on Twitter.

Liam's post picked up 158,000 likes in just eight hours, with people urging the brothers to "kiss and make up" and "make it happen".
