Les Arcs: restaurants and entertainment
The resort restaurants Les Arcs are mostly uninspiring but there are a few really good places worth searching out. On the mountain, the choice and quality has steadily improved over the years and there is now a wide choice.

Le Bulle Café
With its huge terrace, often with live music, and distinctive transparent igloo, Le Bulle is set just above the bottom of the Arcabulle chairlift above Arc 2000. Pizzas here are huge, cheap and enough for two to share, and as well as sandwiches and snacks there are also amazing sea food platters.

The Lodge
At the top of the Mille 8 area above Arc 1800, the Lodge is a smart modern building with big windows. The main restaurant area is light and airy and has a two-tiered outside terrace. Menu choice is limited but the quality is excellent and includes delicious duck leg with honey jus, and fresh water fish with a génépi-infused cream sauce. There’s also a separate bar area with views of Mont Blanc, serving snacks such as saucisson, terrines, cheese and patisseries.

Belliou la Fumée
The beautifully restored, stone-built Belliou la Fumée, close to the bottom of the Pré Saint Esprit chairlift below Arc 1950, is charmingly rustic with a big open fire and a fair-sized terrace. It serves traditional French dishes such as pan fried snails with garlic and spinach, magret de canard, bavette l’echalotes and delicious home-baked tarts.

Le Madly
Open from 8am to 8pm in Arc 1800, Le Madly has a small basic interior and a terrace. After 4pm it basically sells crêpes and waffles. Before then it makes a good cheap lunch stop for salads, burgers, steak frites, croques and sandwiches.

The Savoy
There’s a typical French brasserie feel at the Savoy in Arc 2000, which has separate bar and restaurant areas and serves until midnight. A wide-ranging menu includes mouth-watering steaks, veal escalope and lamb shank as well as traditional Savoyard dishes such as fondue and tartiflette. Good wine list too.

La Table de Lys
Offering refined food in a small and cosy environment, specialities at La Table de Lys in Arc 1950 include foie gras with ginger, pineapple and mango chutney; spicy king prawns served in their shells with squid ink risotto and parmesan; fillet of beef with a Sichuan pepper sauce. The chocolate sphere with raspberry and blueberry mousse is delicious too. Savoyard dishes and burgers also available.
