LDNX: The new 10K race kicking off at Wembley this summer
Each year, we’re spoilt with an amazing selection of 10K events to enter – it’s just a shame that many of them sell out before we’ve even had a look in. Although we love the fact that more people are out there running, racing and enjoying themselves in the process, we do loathe the fact that getting a race bib in the first place can often feel impossible.
So, we’re giving you the heads up on this one. Launching this year, the all-new LDNX will offer first-time runners to speed-seeking elites a unique 10K race in a setting like no other: Wembley.
Known as the home of world-famous performances, from headline-grabbing football matches to sell-out A-list gigs, Wembley, in North West London, will now be the stage for 12,000 runners at the inaugural edition of LDNX, which will take place on Sunday 24 August 2025.
LDNX – where ‘LDN’ refers to the host city, London, and ‘X’ marks the Roman numeral for 10 – is expected to be another oversubscribed occasion, so mark it in your calendar now. Organised by A.S.O. UK, the same mass participation events company that puts on the ever-popular London Winter Run, Manchester Marathon and more, LDNX promises plenty of live music, entertainment and activities in addition to all that running, so you’ll want to make a day of it.
While the exact closed-road route for LDNX has not yet been finalised, runners can expect to hug the roads around Wembley Stadium – England’s national football stadium – and, according to the event organisers, enjoy ‘unique start and finish experiences’.
‘Wembley will be the centre of attention this summer, so alongside iconic football games and record-breaking concerts from Coldplay, Dua Lipa and Oasis, this major new 10K will give everyone a chance to perform in legendary surroundings,’ said Andrew Smith, CEO of A.S.O. UK. ‘LDNX will be an unforgettable experience for those who get to take part, with some new innovations that are unlike any other 10K in the UK. We are known for delivering quality annual events and this will mix the best aspects of those with some great new features befitting the home of epic performances.’
