Lavish 'party jet' lets you revel in the sky for $14,000 an hour

Fancy partying above the clouds? A Dubai hotel has unveiled its lavish private jet that lets you host parties in the sky - but it costs an eye-watering $14,000 an hour.

Fly FIVE by Five Hotels & Resorts in Dubai allows 16 partygoers to live it up in the skies on an Airbus A220.

The self-described “hospitality disruptor” firm, which helms a number of hotels and resorts in Dubai and Zurich, has launched the service for anyone to enjoy, not just its hotel guests.

The aircraft, 9H-FIVE, pronounced Nine-Hotel FIVE, will be immediately available for private charters to a global audience of discerning travellers, while based in Dubai. Within its spacious interior, customers will enjoy a dining table for eight, a full suite with a king-sized bed, and even a shower. There’s also a complete entertainer’s kitchen that private chefs can work out of and three 55-inch television sets to keep guests occupied.

Equipped for lavish parties, the cabin comes with special colour-changing LED lights to set the mood and in-flight speakers to pump up the music. A flight on board the chartered plane can last up to 12 hours, so passengers can choose to travel to major cities such as London, Paris, Beijing, or even Johannesburg.

“FIVE has the experimental spirit of the modernist vanguard, thus Fly FIVE is an exciting evolution of FIVE’s award-winning disruptive hospitality ethos,” says Aloki Batra, CEO, FIVE Hospitality. “With this customized, ultra-luxe, immersive private jet experience like no other, FIVE is once again delivering an elevated – and electric – customer experience for a worldwide diaspora.”

While there are environmental concerns to be had about hiring private jets to stay in the air for hours on end, Five claims it will be offsetting the service’s carbon emissions by purchasing carbon credits for supposed guilt-free flying.
