Lauren Conrad’s New York Fashion Week Debut Was All Kinds Of Dreamy

Lauren Conrad is all grown up. The 29-year-old, who we all came to know and love in US reality show “The Hills”, made her very first NYFW debut – and it went down a storm.

The unofficial start to Fashion Week, the collection was tailor-made for Generation Double Tap and was exactly like Conrad herself – uncontroversial, pretty and appealing.

Velvet was a big player in the collection, too. [Photo: Rex]

Soft palettes of pale pink and cream mixed with dreamy and shimmery bridal shower-esque textures; lace, mesh and velvet all stood out. It’s what every girl would love to wear to prom - and every adult to a summer garden party.

It wasn’t just on the catwalk that Conrad did well – she managed to pull in a pretty enviable FROW, too. Considering it was her first big fashion show.

John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen was the woman that all the photographers wanted to pap and she sat next to Ashley Tisdale – both wearing pieces from Conrad’s collection. Sean Penn and Robin Wright’s daughter Dylan was also in attendance, as were “Laguana Beach” supporting players Lo Bosworth and Dieter Schmitz.

The designer herself put on an equally fashionable display in a flared white jumpsuit that showed off her slim and toned frame. She wore her blonde locks loose, with her signature beachy waves intact. Her make-up was natural and subtle.

The show certainly seemed to be a big hit with Teigen, who told InStyle afterwards that it’s the only fashion week she’s attending.

“I’ve always been a Lauren Conrad fan secretly – hopefully she doesn’t know that,” she joked.

“I’ve been rooting for her since the beginning, so to see her turn from a reality superstar to this complete mogul, to have this empire is really exciting. I feel like I’ve watched her grow.”

So do we – it’s kinda emosh.
