A celebration of life service for the late husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, Thomas Kingston, was held at St Mary Abbotts church in Kensington, West London on Saturday. The 45 year old tragically died from a "catastrophic head injury", leaving his wife, the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, deeply bereaved.

The memorial brought together close friends and family of Mr Kingston, including a few members of the Royal family. However, both the King and Queen as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend.

Speaking on behalf of the family, a representative expressed: "Lady Gabriella and the Kingston family have been deeply touched by the outpouring of love, kindness and support they have received over the past difficult months."

"They were grateful today for the chance to celebrate and give thanks for the life of a wonderful man, among so many of those who knew and loved him too."

Lady Gabriella, who is related to the King through her second cousin connection, was earlier seen at Royal Ascot this week. During the traditional carriage procession, she received a warm hug from Zara Tindall.

She was pictured alongside Princess Anne in the second carriage of the royal procession, as she wore a pink floral dress and matching pastel fascinator.

Last Saturday, Lady Gabriella made a 'lowkey appearance' at Trooping The Colour after reports she had been personally invited by King Charles.

This marked her first major public appearance since her husband's untimely death.

Thomas' funeral took place on March 12, with Prince William joining his royal relatives including the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.

The one hour service was followed by a private cremation, with no details released about Thomas' final resting place.

A statement released days after his death on February 25th on behalf of Lady Gabriella Kingston, Martin and Jill Kingston, Joanna Connolly and Emma Murray said: "It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family, and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing."

Thomas and Lady Gabriella tied the knot at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 18, 2019. The guest list included Queen Elizabeth, and her husband Prince Phillip, as well as Prince Harry who took some time away from newborn son Archie.

The wedding came 12 days after the birth of Harry and Meghan's first son, Archie, and one the eve of their first wedding anniversary.
