L.A. Home of Late Producer Lynda Obst Hits Market
The home of the late pioneering producer Lynda Obst has hit the market for $2.599 million.
Obst, who died last October, loved her longtime Los Angeles home, which is situated in the Moreno Highlands of Silverlake with sweeping mountain views. Located at 2336 Moreno Dr., the 1940s streamline modern creation features four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, three fireplaces, a winding stone staircase and multiple sun decks.

Additional features include lush landscaping, a large terraced yard, hot tub, cold plunge and views across the Ivanhoe and Silverlake reservoirs to the San Gabriel Mountains. Architect Harry Hayden Whiteley designed the residence for Edwin S. Rice, co-founder of the Krispy Kake Cone Company.
Per an official description, Whiteley’s design “celebrates the aerodynamic influence of this popular deco style with gorgeous curves and beautiful lines. Sunlight plays throughout the house all day long — dancing through the study, bending along the stairs and sprawling through the upstairs bedrooms.”
Winter offers views of snow covered mountain peaks, affectionately referred to as “the Silverlake Alps” by Obst who lived there for more than two decades. The property is located not far from the reservoir pedestrian path, schools, dining, shopping and entertainment offerings in the neighborhood.
Douglas Elliman real estate agent team of Heather T. Roy and Learka Bosnak (also known professionally as Heather & Learka) are handling the listing. News of the listing comes hot on the heels of an estate sale in the home, which featured a lifetime of Obst’s prized possessions.
