Kylie Jenner sparkles in a '90s Versace at the Golden Globes
Kylie Jenner showed her support for boyfriend Timothée Chalamet at the 82nd annual Golden Globes on Sunday night.
The reality TV star chose to skip the red carpet, but was seen inside the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, sitting alongside Chalamet, as well as actresses Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro. Jenner showed up to the starry spectacle dressed in a backless molten silver gown with a low cowl neckline and spaghetti straps. For some extra sparkle, she added Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.
Jenner's silver chainmail dress is an archival Atelier Versace piece from its spring/summer 1999 collection, but it has even more history of its own; those with a keen eye will notice it's similarity to the design worn by Liz Hurley in the Nineties, who opted for a lavender iteration of the dress while attending the CFDA Fashion Awards with her then-beau Hugh Grant.
Jenner shared a series of portraits on Instagram giving us a better look at the glittering dress, writing: "Cuuutest night [with] the cutest girls in a little 1999 Versace."
It's been a year since Jenner and Chalamet made their awards-ceremony debut, first appearing together at the 2024 Golden Globes. Then, too, Jenner skipped the red carpet, choosing to instead appear at Chalamet’s table during the show. She matched with the actor in a glittery black ensemble — a sequinned lace gown from Hanae Mori. The couple seemed just as loved up 12 months later.
The two were first rumoured to be dating back in April 2023. Since then, they have kept a tight lid on their romance, appearing in public together only sparingly and making very few comments on their relationship status.
“Sometimes, people are going to be hella confused when you say you’re trying to live a private life,” Chalamet said during a 2023 interview with GQ. “You’ve got to have the experiences in your personal life that are usable to you. The experiential rush of my career taking off was so new to me that those were the experiences that were feeding my work for a while. But you’ve got to have real experiences. Human experiences. You’ve got to fall in love, you’ve got to be bored.”
