Kylie Jenner has revealed in a TikTok vlog that her favourite TV show is The Great British Bake Off, and that she cried during a particularly tense Caramel Week that she was catching up with on her iPad. The Kylie Cosmetics mogul, who has been travelling to promote her new line of canned cocktails called Sprinter, filmed herself eating doughnuts on her private plane and then settling down to watch an episode of the baking competition.

She said: "Watching my favourite show, the Great British Baking show and it's Caramel Week. Fully crying." The episode she watched featured the elimination of farmer Mike, as well as numerous caramel disasters as sugar was burnt, creations fell apart and Noel managed to break Nelly’s measuring jug while playing baseball with a rolling pin and some leftover pastry.

There have been greater disasters in the Bake Off tent over the years, including the controversial ‘Bingate’ in 2014 in which contestant Iain Watters’ ice cream melted after fellow baker Diana Beard removed his dessert from the freezer. In a temper he threw his Baked Alaska in the bin, and later presented the smashed results to the judges.

Many fans also remember the custard incident, where in the fourth series baker Deborah accidentally used her competitor’s custard to make a trifle and had to confess her error to then-host Sue Perkins. And it is not just the bakers who have made errors – in her first year as judge, having taken over from Mary Berry, Prue Leith accidentally revealed the winner of the show 12 hours before it was broadcast.

This year, there was chaos early on in the Bake Off tent as three bakers crumbled under the pressure during biscuit week. First, 31 year old midwife Illyin fainted, and was put in the recovery position when a medic arrived. “I just feel dizzy,” she said at the time, but while she returned to the tent, she later had to leave and her Showstopper was judged in her absence.

During the same episode, former university lecturer Jeff, 67, returned to the tent after missing part of the previous week due to illness, but after beginning the technical challenge in which the bakers had to make 12 mint cream biscuits in two hours, he decided he couldn’t continue. “I’ve had enough. I just can’t do it,” he said as he left the tent.

He was followed by presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding, who later announced that Jeff had left the competition. “This final round just wasn’t right for me. I really enjoyed it. Everybody’s been wonderful, you’ve got a great group of bakers in there. Alright I didn’t make it very far, but there you go. But it was wonderful so thank you very much,” he said.
