Kristin Juszczyk Shows Off Her '90s-Inspired Christmas Decor and Preps to Host Family's Epic Party (Exclusive)
The wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk is taking over hosting duties from her Nonna after 60 years
Kristin Juszczyk is taking over as the queen of Christmas for her family.
Every year, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk celebrates Christmas Eve with her big Italian family in New York, and for nearly 60 years, her Nonna has hosted the festivities. However, this year marks a change. Since the matriarch is no longer living at home, Kristin is stepping up.
"Everyone was thinking, 'Who's going to host? Who's going to take the new crown for the new family tradition?'" Kristin, 30, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. It’s just so magical and so homey, and I think it’s special because the world really does turn off, and you’re just around the people you love the most."
"Being able to take that crown and take over the Christmas Eve hosting from my Nonna has been something that is just so special to me, and it’s definitely not something I take lightly," she adds.
Since Kristin and Kyle live primarily in California, all their Christmas decorations are there. Kristin knew if she was going to be hosting at their home in New York, she needed to bring in some festive decorations to cozy up her East Coast abode.
So, she decided to partner with Balsam Hill, a brand known for its stunning artificial Christmas trees and other holiday décor.
"Their decorations are just so beautiful," she says. "Their trees feel so realistic, and their decorations have this classic, wholesome feel to them, which is really what I was going for this Christmas Eve with my decorations."
"I wanted it to kind of bring back that '90s Christmas feel and the joy I felt as a kid. I just want to recreate that for my nieces and nephews," she adds. "I truly couldn’t be more excited for all the amazing decorations."

Since Christmas falls during football season, Kristin explains that Kyle won’t be able to join the family celebration in New York. After Christmas Eve, she'll fly back to California on Christmas Day to spend the holiday with him.
"He's hard at work, and these are just the sacrifices that football players make, but that's okay because I will make it home to be with him on Christmas Day," she says.
Kristin adds that she’s big on traditions and anytime she throws a baby shower or any type of party for her friends, she always has a "traditions box" where people at the party write down what their family traditions are.
"I love learning about other people's traditions and then implementing them into my own life," she says.
One special tradition that she and Kyle share is collecting ornaments whenever they travel or have a memorable experience together. They have a specific tree in their house dedicated to those ornaments. Every year, she looks forward to decorating that tree.
"We go through each ornament one by one, talk about the memory or trip it represents and just enjoy going down memory lane," she says.
"It’s really fun to watch the tree grow," she continues. "We already have so many amazing ornaments, and I’m just so excited to see it expand. It has definitely become one of my new favorite Christmas traditions."
