The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is shaping up to be quite the celebration, what with corgi-shaped cakes, extended pub opening hours and limited-edition chocolate bars. But now, those scheduled street parties are going to be even better because a certain doughnut retailer has launched their own selection of jubilee-themed treats.
Get a hold of Krispy Kreme’s Platinum Jubilee doughnuts.
Available between 30 May and 5 June, Krispy Kreme has marked Her Majesty’s 70-year reign with three brand-new, tasty doughnuts: Jubilee Joy, Celebration Crown and Platinum Sprinkles, as well as a Platinum Jubilee Dozen box. Not bad, huh?
Jubilee Joy (£2.45) - filled with strawberries and kreme, dipped in purple icing, sprinkled with white sprinkles with a Jubilee emblem plaque.
Celebration Crown (£2.45) - filled with cherry kreme, dipped in white icing, with blue and red lines, with a Union Jack crown plaque.
Platinum Sprinkles (£2.05) - dipped in red icing and topped with white, blue and red jubilee sprinkles.
Platinum Jubilee Dozen (£15.95) - 3 Jubilee Joy, 3 Celebration Crown, 3 Platinum Sprinkles, and 3 Original Glazed Doughnuts.
If you don’t fancy stopping there, then you should give the *official* pudding for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee a go… Jemma Melvin’s Lemon Swiss Roll and Amaretti Trifle.
Yep! To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and commemorate her 70-year reign, a nationwide competition was launched asking people to come up with a pudding fit for a queen (literally) to celebrate.
Judged by Mary Berry, MasterChef’s Monica Galetti and Buckingham Palace’s head chef, Mark Flanagan, Jemma’s pud beat over 5,000 other desserts to the crown.
