The Kraken's new fruity rum flavour sounds amazing
The Kraken, known for its Black Spiced Rum from the Caribbean, has just released a new Black Cherry and Madagascan Vanilla Spiced Rum; and we had a chance to try this delicious new flavour.
The new addition to its line up is the second new product to drop on the UK shores (they launched a coffee flavoured spiced rum last year if that's more your thing).
The new Black Cherry and Madagascan Vanilla Black Spiced Rum has an ABV of 40% for a 70cl bottle and is a flavourful fusion of rich black cherries that gives it a sweet yet tart taste. Plus, the Madagascan vanilla gives the rum a sweet, creamy and slightly spicy back note that pairs really well with the caramel and maple notes found in the original spiced rum.
It has a refreshingly smooth finish and is lovely to sip neat over ice, or mixed with soda water for an easy highball cocktail.
We think this new rum flavour has serious versatility and we can imagine it tasting amazing in a rum punch or a negroni; as well as being used in baking if you like your cakes boozy.
The brand has also shared its favourite way for serving the new flavour which is giving us serious nostalgic vibes. It says that this versatile flavour is most refreshing when served simply with cola over ice, and garnished with a lime wedge for an easy tipple.
