Kourtney Kardashian's divisive wedding outfit included a Travis tattoo tribute

Congratulations are in order for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who have wed for a third time in Italy over the weekend.

The celebrity couple, who married officially in Santa Barbara last week, descended on Portofino with their friends and family for the special occasion on Sunday.

Continuing the theme of their courthouse wedding in California last week, the bride and groom chose Dolce & Gabbana for their nuptials in Italy.

Kardashian, 43, chose a figure-hugging white satin and lace mini dress for the big day, which creative directors Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said was inspired by “the iconic figures of the Italian lingerie [sic]” and “la dolce vita”.

The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda dress – from the fashion brand’s haute couture house – featured a tight corset to enhance the silhouette and “emphasize femininity [sic]”.

But it was the dramatic hand-embroidered veil that really caught the attention of fans. The long, wide tulle veil featured floral lace appliqués inspired by the flowers of the Portofino gardens.

The hand-embroidered veil features a large depiction of the Virgin Mary, the same as Barker's head tattoo, which is a symbol of alliance, respect and common devotion.

To add to her sartorial commitment to their joining of lives and families, the cross-stitched embroidery also featured the words “family loyalty respect” across the veil.

The bride accessorised with white tulle opera gloves and white lace stiletto pumps by the Italian brand.

Fans were quick to praise the design of Kardashian’s veil, saying that it looked ‘magical’ and ‘10/10’.

“kourtney kardashian’s wedding outfits we’ve seen have been awful at best, but this veil - no i don’t think you understand.. im OBSESSED [sic],” wrote one user on Twitter.

“I’m not normally a veil person but this veil from Kourtney Kardashian wedding is going to live in my head rent free” wrote another. “I’m obsessed.”

However, some weren’t happy with the juxtaposition of the mini dress and religious imagery in the veil.

“I saw Kourtney Kardashian's wedding veil and it looked magical and it gave me high hopes for her dress only for her to turn around and look like THIS? Wtf is this rag?” wrote one fan.

“The veil is breathtaking but I feel like it’s so disrespectful to wear a veil w/Mother Theresa embroidered in it while wearing a body suit with see through lace as a mini skirt. That’s for the bedroom! What happened to her? She’s changed her identity completely Bc of Travis [sic],” wrote another fan.

“I hate that Twitter has made me me care about Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding… but if anyone wants to talk about how that veil deserved a better dress you know where I’ll be,” said another user.

“Kourtney Kardashian’s veil is 10/10 but… that dress. I simply require her to be placed in prison immediately,” exclaimed one empassioned user.

The eldest Kardashian sister chose Dolce & Gabbana for her official courthouse ceremony in Santa Barbara, and her ‘practise wedding’ in Las Vegas after the 2022 Grammy Awards.

The full Kardashian-Jenner clan all wore the Italian fashion house for the whole weekend, with Khloé Kardashian stunning in a leopard-print dress on her arrival in Portofino.

The bride opted for a dark red ensemble for the family’s first evening in the seaside Italian town. The corset-esque satin bodysuit was covered with a ruched tulle, and accessorised with a coordinating fur stole.
