Kit Kat Has a New Halloween Flavor, and We Tried It First
Boo! It's spooky season.
I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems like summer is, unofficially, officially over. Once back-to-school starts and Labor Day closeout sales begin, almost every brand and store decides it’s fall—even though there’s still more than a month before the actual first day of autumn.
No matter how you feel about that fact, one of our favorite candy brands has already begun trading in its classic licorice for new ghost-shaped Twizzlers and Reese’s Medals for Reese’s Pumpkins. So, in Hershey’s world, it’s already Halloween.
In addition to multiple fan favorites returning—including the classic Reese’s shapes and York peppermint pumpkins—Hershey’s is releasing an all-new Kit Kat flavor for the Halloween season.
Hershey's Debuts New Halloween Kit Kat Flavor
Kit Kat Ghost Toast joins the lineup of Dark Chocolate, Breaking Bones, and Witches Brew Kit Kat bars this year.
Ghost Toast is an all-new flavor that features Kit Kat’s classic, crispy wafers encased in cinnamon toast-flavored creme. Just like Kit Kat's other two Halloween flavors, Ghost Toast's creme is dyed a festive color to match the spooky vibes. This new Kit Kat features a bright orange creme.
The new Kit Kat flavor is hitting nationwide retailer shelves now—along with the dark chocolate-flavored Kit Kat, white creme-flavored Breaking Bones Kit Kat, and marshmallow-flavored Witches Brew Kit Kat—where it will be available in standard, king, and snack sizes through Halloween.
I tried Hershey’s Ghost Toast Kit Kat, and here’s my honest review.
My Honest Review of Kit Kat Ghost Toast
First and foremost, Hershey’s nailed it with the packaging of Kit Kat Ghost Toast. The ghost on the front is so adorable and will definitely stand out in your candy bowl for trick-or-treaters.
The candy itself smells sweet and cinnamony, which is enticing for anyone who enjoyed butter and cinnamon on bread as an after-school snack. It’s one of those scents you’d expect to find at Bath & Body Works during the fall months.
As far as taste, I was expecting something similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, just maybe a tad sweeter. However, that’s not really the flavor I got.
Instead, Ghost Toast has more of a white chocolate flavor—similar to Breaking Bones—with a hint of cinnamon at the end. The “creme” flavor is much more powerful than the “cinnamon toast” flavor but in an enjoyable way.
It’s almost like a white creme Kit Kat with cinnamon-flavored wafers because you get the strong creme flavor followed by the spicy cinnamon on the end.
To me, nothing can beat the classic chocolate Kit Kat, but if you’re looking to add a little variety to your Halloween candy bowl, Kit Kat Ghost Toast is a great option.
