The King will feature in an Amazon Prime documentary about how to make the world “more sustainable”.

It will use Charles’s charity endeavours to demonstrate how to “transform people, places and ultimately the planet”.

It will showcase projects inspired by the King’s 2010 book Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, which called for a revolution in humanity’s attitude towards nature.

“The King is greatly looking forward to seeing how the Harmony concept can be communicated to a new and international audience, using some of the best creative talents in TV,” a royal source told The Times.

Filming began in January at Dumfries House, the King’s Scottish stately home near Cumnock, Ayrshire, and the documentary is expected to be released next year.

It marks a break from previous royal documentaries, which historically have been released by the BBC and ITV.

But the King’s personal appearances in the documentary will be “minimal”, The Telegraph understands. It will instead focus on his work and ideas rather than him as a person.

In the book Harmony, the King wrote that “all sorts of dramatic steps” were necessary to “change the way we consider the world and act in it”.

“This is a call to revolution,” he wrote. “Revolution is a strong word, and I use it deliberately.”

A film of the same name premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 when Charles was Prince of Wales.

In it, he hailed “working with nature’s freely given forms and clean energy” and praised Germany’s adoption of wind power.

He had previously been reported to view wind turbines as “a horrendous blot on the landscape”.

After his accession to the throne, the King has sought to “highlight” rather than campaign in support of the environment as he did in previous decades.

He has long had a passion for the environment and in 2023 warned that the world was becoming immune to broken record on climate change.

In May 2024, a poll found that his interest in green issues and sustainability had helped children feel more connected to him.
