Killing Eve's Jodie Comer and Peaky Blinders star Tom Hardy are teaming up for an ambitious new movie.

The pair will be joined by Elvis breakout star Austin Butler in the cast of The Bikeriders, inspired by the novel of the same name as well as the photography of its author Danny Lyon (via Deadline).

The film follows the rise and fall of a 1960s biker gang in the Midwestern US, as they find kinship and brotherhood together. Over time, darker impulses take hold over the gang and change their way of life.

Filmmaker Jeff Nichols is behind the movie version of The Bikeriders. His notable credits include Matthew McConaughey's coming-of-age movie Mud and the US Civil Rights drama Loving about a groundbreaking interracial marriage legal case.

The Bikeriders comes during a very busy time for all three of its leading stars. Comer is fresh off the final season of Killing Eve and also finished a stint in the West End this summer in the one-woman show Prima Facie.

Comer is set to bring the stage production to Broadway in her debut on the Great White Way starting next spring.

Next up for Tom Hardy in 2022 is the Netflix movie Havoc, where he teams up with Gangs of London boss Gareth Evans for a fight through the underworld following a drug deal-gone-wrong. He'll be back for Venom 3 as well.

It was also recently revealed that Hardy and Peaky Blinders boss Steven Knight are finally gearing up for the return of Taboo after five years. Knight hinted in the spring that season 2 will film "towards the end of next year".

Rounding out the cast of The Bikeriders is Austin Butler, an awards contender for his incredible portrayal of the King of Rock n' Roll in the biopic Elvis this year.

Butler is following up Elvis by joining the cast of Dune: Part 2 alongside a stunning group that also includes newcomers Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Lea Seydoux.
