One of 2021's most exciting books, How To Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie, is being made into a TV series - and the cast is already looking stellar.

Having topped the Sunday Times Bestseller list and sold 1.2 million copies to date, the story, about a woman called Grace, the forgotten daughter of a merciless billionaire, is ripe for a TV adaptation, so it was no surprise when Netflix scooped up the rights.

Split into eight episodes, the series will follow Grace as she attempts to exact revenge on her family one by one. As the product of an affair her social climbing father claims not to remember, Grace and her mum are left to fend for themselves. But when her mum dies, Grace turns her hurt and anger into something more useful – killing off her estranged family via some rather morbidly creative means. All a bid to claw her way towards what is rightfully hers – a hefty inheritance.

Excitingly, actress Anya Taylor-Joy – who you might know from another hit Netflix series, The Queen’s Gambit– has been cast to play Grace. Author Bella has said that Anya “is the most perfect fit to play Grace. I often think she understands her better than I do.”

“As soon as I turned the last page, I knew I had to be a part of bringing this story to life,” Anya told Netflix. “After some (light) stalking of the inimitable Bella Mackie, I could not be more thrilled to be collaborating with the team.” She added: “I am looking forward to getting our hands even dirtier.”
