Kids TV legend has totally different career 18 years after hit BBC show ended
Nearly two decades ago, Dominic Wood was known across the UK as one half of the iconic duo Dick & Dom – but he's made quite the career change some years since the beloved kids TV show ended.
Captivating young viewers in the 1990s and 2000s, Dick & Dom in da Bungalow was a CBBC children’s show aired on weekends. It involved comedic segments such as ‘Bogies’ and ‘Diddy Dick and & Dom’.
Each episode would see child contestants compete for prizes, which could be anything from games consoles to the less exciting bottles of water. And worst of all, if you lost, it would result in being covered in slime, or as they called it, ‘creamy muck muck’.
The show was known for being one of the most chaotic and entertaining of its time and, in return, received a lot of controversy and complaints from young viewers' parents.

The duo even breached Ofcom’s children’s programming regulations when Dom appeared on screen wearing a slogan T-shirt that said ‘Morning Wood,’ which he claimed was merely a reference to the morning time slot and his surname.
When the series wrapped in 2006, very little was seen or heard of Dominic Wood or his co-host Richard McCourt – until recently.
The TV star has since gained traction online as a DIY enthusiast under the handle @the+houseofwood, where he documents the renovation projects of his home.
One particular clip gained traction of him working on a staircase, which involved tearing up old carpet, sanding down the wood, and repainting it. Fans of the TV show soon flooded the comments to poke fun at the presenter, referencing his glory days on CBBC.
One person commented on a DIY TikTok of his joking: "So much less work when you lived in a bungalow."
Another viewer got in on the joke, asking, "Sorry, stairs? Thought you lived in da bungalow?"
But the TV presenter, now 47, is no stranger to a viral TikTok moment. Last summer a video emerged online of the Dick and Dom duo DJing a hardcore D&B set at 1:30am in a nightclub.
They captioned the video: "Late 40s, 1:30am. Not normal!!!!!" However unusual it may seem, their show went on to see the likes of Glastonbury and other festival stages across the UK.
It was back in June 2020 that the noughties star uploaded his first DIY video after buying a 1930s property in Surrey with his pop star wife, Sandi Lee Hughes.
Unfortunately for them, the pandemic hit and delayed their renovation plans. But it was exciting news for fans of Dick & Dom when he decided to take matters into his own hands and has been sharing his DIY journey online ever since.
It seems one way or another, Dominic Wood cannot hide away from the limelight for too long.
