Khloe Kardashian accused of cultural appropriation following Diana Ross tribute
Last night, reality television star Khloe Kardashian paid sartorial homage to Diana Ross for the singer’s 75th birthday party in Los Angeles.
In honour of the former Supreme, the 34-year-old wore a slinky gold dress and blonde afro but the ‘disco fever’ aesthetic soon led fans to accuse the new mum of cultural appropriation.
The Kardashian shared several clips from the evening via Instagram Stories which show her heading to the A-list event.
In response, social media users promptly took to Instagram to call out the social media mogul.
“It’s to [sic] early for me to have a (another) Kardashian Appropriation Headache,” one wrote.

Another agreed, writing [sic]: “I think the difference is that big curly hair is celebrated when it’s on white women ONLY… even though black women are naturally blessed with that.”
“I’m so glad black culture inspires so many people. It’s just sad that everybody wants to be ‘black’ until it’s actually time to deal with black issues,” one added.
Another Instagram user also questioned, “Can we have our culture? That’s all we want. Go celebrate something else?”

But there were a handful of fans who didn’t find an issue with the Kardashian channelling Diana Ross.
“She’s paying tribute to Diana with the big hair,” they wrote. “I’m here for it.”
Though it’s not the first time a member of Kardashian clan has come under fire, as Kim was accused of cultural appropriation after wearing braids to the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
