KFC Is Finally Bringing Fried Chicken Pizza to the United States

Why choose between fried chicken and pizza when you can have both? That's the exact concept behind KFC's Chizza, a genius hybrid that pairs a fried chicken base with pizza toppings.

Although the Chizza has previously made the rounds around the world, popping up in South Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain, and Mexico, it will finally arrive in the U.S. on February 26 for a limited time.

Of the countries mentioned, some have their own variations on the Chizza, but for those in the U.S., the new menu item will feature two fried chicken filets topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.

With the Chizza arriving in a matter of days, KFC didn't hesitate in expressing their excitement over bringing a "fan-favorite" to the States this month.

"Fried chicken and pizza collaborated to create something even better – the Chizza," said Nick Chavez, CMO KFC U.S, in a statement. "The fan-favorite mashup is finally available in the U.S. after making its way around the world – try it while you can!"

Overall, the Chizza has received favorable reviews. One TikToker raved that it was "the things dreams are made of," while another added that the menu item "was so flavorful, crispy, and cheesy."

For those eager to get their hands on the melty hybrid, you can preview the new menu item for free at a "Chizzeria" pop-up in New York City, at 242 East 14th Street. The sneak peek will take place from Friday, February 23 - Saturday, February 24, 1 - 9 p.m. ET.
