Kevin Costner, 69, 'looking for love' amid rumours of relationship with Jewel, 50
Kevin Costner is all for the thrill of new love.
The star of Yellowstone, aged 69, has been making headlines with rumours swirling about a connection with songstress Jewel, 50. The duo has been seen together on multiple occasions, exuding ease and comfort in each other's company.
However, Kevin has put the brakes on the gossip, clarifying that they're not an item. Despite this, he's candid about his openness to romance, especially since filing for divorce from Christine Baumgartner, his wife of 18 years, just last year.
Chatting with People magazine, he confessed: "I think everybody would like to be in love. There's such a good feeling that's associated with that."
He mused further: "It may have to be defined in a different way, but yeah, I love the idea of that possibility."
Even after a tough split from Christine, a handbag designer, which involved a tense financial dispute, Kevin remains optimistic, vowing not to let bitterness take root in his heart.
On how he copes with difficult periods, Kevin shared insights into his family life, focusing on his seven children Annie, 40, Lily, 37, Joe, 36, Liam, 27, Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, who's 14. He emphasised the importance of staying engaged with their lives: "You just keep talking, you keep coaching (the kids), you keep interested in what they're interested in... I had to."
He reflected on parenthood, saying: "It's really about the children. I am still teaching my kids. And by the way, I'm still learning."
Back in December, when whispers of Kevin and Jewel's budding relationship reached TMZ, insiders described their bond as "rather new".
Kevin opened up on 'The Howard Stern Show' earlier this week about the rumours surrounding his relationship with Jewel, saying: "Jewel and I are friends we've never gone out. She's special, and I don't want these rumours to ruin our friendship because that's what we have."
Even so, Kevin confessed that Jewel is "beautiful enough to go out with".
The actor revealed they initially met on billionaire Sir Richard Branson's private island in 2023 during the 'Who Will Save Your Soul' singer's Inspiring Children Foundation tennis fundraiser.
He shared how they had "tremendous conversations" but affirmed they left the island as just friends.
Jewel, who has a 12 year old son Kase, was previously married to actor Ty Murray, 54, from 2008 to 2014.
