In the newly-released snap, the Duchess can be seen judging the winning entry for the competition with George Hassall, who was made the first RHS Young Ambassador in October 2015 aged 10.

On Thursday, the Duchess opened up about her disbelief at how quickly her children are growing up.

During a visit to the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) in Southwark, south London on Thursday, the Duchess of Cambridge spoke of her children: Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four and Prince Louis, 18 months.

After speaking with the royal at FNP – a voluntary home visiting programme for first-time parents aged 24 and under - fellow mother Chloe Koroma, 23, said of her conversation with the 38-year-old: ‘She said children grow up so quickly and she can’t believe that George is six already.’

Prince George celebrated his sixth birthday on 22 July during a two-week family holiday to the private island of Mustique.
