Kendall Jenner has opened up about how she 'ran home crying everyday' because of acne

Kendall Jenner caused quite the stir last week when she announced a sponsorship deal with anti-acne brand, Proactiv. It all started when Kris Jenner got the internet riled up, by claiming that her daughter, Kendall Jenner, was about to share some big news. Kris praised her daughter for being "so brave and vulnerable", describing the upcoming revelation as Kendall's "most raw" and "moving" story yet.
When Kendall's big news turned out to be that she would be working with the skincare brand, Proactiv, after dealing with acne when she was younger, most of Twitter were left annoyed by what they described as a 'publicity stunt'...
kris jenner telling everyone to prepare to be moved by kendall because she’s set to reveal a deep and personal story that actually ended up being a f*cking proactiv commercial is honestly the most kris jenner thing ever

Despite the previous backlash, Kendall took to her Instagram Stories last night to open up about her experience with acne once again. Taking part in the 10 year challenge, the supermodel shared a throwback picture from when she was a teen, captioning it: "I was 13 and ran home crying everyday because people would stare at my skin."
She then shared a no makeup selfie taken just yesterday, in which her skin looks clear.
After uploading on Stories, Kendall also posted a sponsored picture on her main grid, with a longer caption describing her 'debilitating' experience with acne.
"While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating. It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure. As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being “perfect” is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect. Being insecure about my acne gave me thick skin but I wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone so after trying countless options, I found something that has been helpful in maintaining clear skin for me. It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity. ❤️" She wrote.
Despite wanting to 'open up a dialogue', Kendall decided to disable comments on her post - likely due to the backlash she received from the initial sponsorship announcement.

Whether Kendall's posts are paid for or not, her overall message of skin positivity is a movement we can definitely get behind.
