Kelsey Parker shares challenges of being single parent after husband Tom's death

Kelsey Parker reflected on becoming a single parent following the death of her husband Tom Parker as she marked Mother's Day on Sunday.

The Wanted singer passed away on 30 March 2022, at the age of 33, following a two-year battle with stage four glioblastoma, an aggressive and inoperable brain tumour.

On Sunday, as she celebrated her first Mother's Day without Tom, Kelsey candidly shared her hope of growing old with Parker and parenting their two children together.

"When I first had Rae never would I've thought I'd be a solo parent. I was so looking forward to me & Tom being parents, sharing all the highs & lows, growing old together whilst watching our babies grow," she wrote. "Being a solo parent has possibly been one of the hardest things about this past year. Not having that special person to enjoy everything with, or to take over when it just gets too much."

Kelsey went on to thank the "special mums" who have helped her family since Tom's death.

"I couldn't have done it without the special mums in my life. Thank you for sitting with me, for pulling me through and for all you do for me & the kids. You'll never know how grateful we are for you all," she added.

Kelsey and Tom married in 2018 and they share two children; three-year-old daughter Aurelia and two-year-old son Bodhi.
