Kelly Ripa’s Style Transformation Over the Years

We were blown away by Kelly Ripa’s hair transformation, and her wardrobe evolution is no different. Over the years, the 49-year-old host has experimented with her personal style by dabbling in new trends and adapting to the ever-changing industry, all while leaving behind a paper trail of throwback photos.

Join us as we take a look back at Kelly Ripa’s style transformation.

1991: Polly Pocket Chic

Back in the ’90s, Ripa (pictured on the right) was still experimenting with fashion. At one point, she stepped out in a dress that looks like it belongs in our child’s costume box.

1993: The Little Mermaid

The actress went full-blown mermaid glam for an event in New York City. That hairdo is something else…

1997: Maternity maven

At the 1997 Soap Opera Digest Awards, Ripa was pregnant with her first child, Michael Consuelos, and donned an LBD that complemented her growing baby bump.

2000: Country Barbie

How could we forget about this pink number from the daytime Emmy Awards?

2004: The Awkward stage

Ripa went a little too casual at Fashion Week with baggy cargo pants and a see-through top. Basically, the early ’00s wardrobe we all wish we could forget. (Excluding Mark Consuelos, who is surprisingly wearing a shirt.)

2007: Beach vibes

She wore a fitting dress to a Hamptons social event, featuring a pleasing silhouette and a lace hemline.

2011: Business professional

While meeting her wax figure (creepy), Ripa donned a simple red dress that’s not only age appropriate, but it’s also flattering.

2014: Casual daywear

Ripa was spotted arriving at Jimmy Kimmel Live! wearing a casual daytime outfit, which consisted of dark wash jeans, a white button-down shirt, a preppy jacket and sneakers.

2018: Pop of color

At the 90th annual Academy Awards, Ripa wore a stunning gown by Christian Siriano that’s practically the definition of “business in the front, party in the back.” Oh, and did we mention the dress had—drumroll, please—pockets?

2020: Polka dot glam

The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host’s present-day style mainly consists of tailored dresses—like this polka dot number she wore in New York City. The stylish and sophisticated Ripa has been keeping busy by breaking out the old photo albums, sharing throwback photos of her lookalike mom and giving us an unofficial tour of her home.
