Kelly Osbourne slams exec that told her to 'lose weight' as she's 'too fat for TV'
Kelly Osbourne has opened up about a hurtful experience she had as a young star, where an executive told her she was "too fat for TV". The 39 year old daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne shared the shocking story on the latest episode of The Osbourne's Podcast.
"It was the most insulting f***ing thing," she revealed to her listeners. "When I was a kid, I got pulled into the head of the agency's office and he was putting golf balls into a cup and gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better."
The singer also shared how she was lectured about needing to lose weight in order to be successful. Kelly didn't name the executive involved but did mention that this incident happened around the time she was cast in the Disney remake of Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in 2003, reports The Mirror.
"I was gonna play her best friend, and then it was right before Mom got diagnosed with cancer, so I quit," she explained. "And he was just saying, 'You're not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight.'".
After his sister spilled the tea, Jack Osbourne couldn't help but chime in, calling it the "most LA s**t ever."
Kelly Osbourne's weight has always been a hot topic, and her recent slim-down has fans buzzing with rumours, with some fans even speculating about the possibility of her using the weight loss drug Ozempic. But Dancing With The Stars icon Kelly, clapped back at the gossip, insisting she hasn't relied on any drugs to drop her post-baby pounds.
In an April chat with Extra, Kelly set the record straight, saying, "I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic," but firmly denied it, adding, "I did not take Ozempic. I don't know where that came from. My mom took Ozempic."
The star wowed everyone by losing 85lbs after welcoming her son Sidney in 2022. But it wasn't just about looking good; Kelly revealed her health scare with gestational diabetes during pregnancy led her to cut out sugar and carbs to avoid developing full-blown diabetes. This major diet overhaul resulted in her impressive weight loss.
Despite not using Ozempic personally, she admitted it's an "amazing" choice for those aiming to slim down. "There are a million ways to lose weight. Why not do it through something that isn't as boring as working out? " she shared with E! News earlier this year.
