Keke Palmer Wore a Mini Skirt in Freezing Weather with This Timeless Classic
She kept things cool while looking hot.
I'm fully ready to admit that I'm obsessed with all things Keke Palmer. Ever since I was in middle school, I remember the multi-hyphenated talent being such a force of nature whenever she popped up on the screen during my after-school TV viewing. As the years have rolled on, she has continued to be a source of not of endless meme material for my group chats (insert "Sorry to this man"), but as of late, she's also been inspiring my thoughts on style—especially winter wear.
Just take her latest outing, for example. On Thursday, January 16th, the actress was seen arriving at the Kelly Clarkson Show at Rockefeller Center to promote her latest comedy One of Them Days. Even though the temps were well below freezing, Palmer looked trés chic in a grey and cream-colored plaid mohair coat and matching mini skirt from Schiaparelli, which she wore with a fitted black turtleneck and sheer Wolford tights. She accessorized her winter outfit with a leather newsboy cap, gloves, black leather knee-high boots, and a Schiaparelli mini keyhole handbag.
Sure, it takes a lot of confidence and physical endurance, if we're being real, to step out onto the city streets in freezing weather in this kind of outfit, but Palmer somehow makes it look oh-so effortless. And we're taking notes! What keeps her plaid coat and miniskirt ensemble from veering into impractical territory, if you ask us, is her use of her knee-high boots that she paired with the sheer tights. They give a much-needed sense of balance to her look, especially the daring miniskirt, and perfectly complement the clothes while still being very much seasonally appropriate.
