Katharine McPhee shares an old picture of Meghan Markle during her theatre days
It's hard to imagine a world where the Duchess of Sussex isn't a glossy, perfectly put-together royal who has the world's press reporting on her every style move. But, once upon a time, before she became a duchess, and even before she landed her breakout role in Suits, a young Meghan Markle went to theatre school, like so many of her acting contemporaries.
American actress Katharine McPhee reminded us of this in the ultimate #TBT when she posted an Instagram of the two of them from their school days. They used to act in musicals together, and she joked that their lives had basically ended up the same anyway.

"Meghan and I did musicals together as kids," she captioned the Insta. "She grew up to be the Duchess of Sussex and I grew up to star on the West End, so same life if you ask me. #TBT"
Given that Katharine is coming to London's West End to star in the musical Waitress next month, perhaps the pair are planning a catch up. Or perhaps the opening night will have a royal guest in the audience.
