Kate Winslet was glowing as she arrived at the London premiere for her latest film Lee on Tuesday (3 February), wearing a stunning floor-length gown.
The actor attended the event in a sweeping black dress with statement puff-sleeves and floral embellishment which sparkled around the neckline. The dress is a Jenny Packham creation, who is a favourite designer of The Princess of Wales and she has worn many of her custom gowns over the years.
Kate's latest film is a biopic on Lee Miller, the war photographer who is particularly recognised for capturing World War II as one of very few female photographers at that time.
Kate stars as Lee Miller and also produced the film, a movie she was passionate about making. Speaking to Vogue Kate said, “I wanted to tell the story of a flawed middle-aged woman who went to war and documented it.” She explained that, “Lee was a woman who lived her life on her terms and she paid a horrific emotional price for all of it."
It took Kate eight years to get the film off the ground, a process she described to Vogue as "the most phenomenal fight,” saying she “truly drove it up a mountain” to bring it to cinema screens around the world.
Lee also stars Josh O'Connor, Jude Law, Alexander Skarsgård and Marion Cotillard.
Lee releases in cinemas across the UK from 13 September.
