The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken part in their first in-person joint engagement since the lockdown measures were eased slightly in England.

Until now, Kate and William have been mainly catching up with their charities and special causes together over video chat, while slowly getting back in to the swing of physical duties individually.

Catherine recently visited a garden centre and a children's hospice (wearing the most gorgeous summer dress), while Wills has been busy thanking NHS workers and supporting small businesses. Over the weekend he also enjoyed a cider as some pubs reopened in England.

Yesterday, they joined forces once more and stepped out together again for an important cause: the NHS' 72nd birthday.

The Cambridges visited the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, which is local to Anmer Hall in Norfolk where they have been isolating with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – since the end of March.

Kate and William thanked health and social care workers for their ongoing crucial support during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kensington Palace said.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a floral print midi dress from one of her favourite labels, Beulah London, for the occasion which she appeared to snap up in the sale.

Unsurprisingly, the dress has already sold out online.

The summer would usually be a busy time of the year for royal engagements, with the Trooping of the Colour, Prince Harry's Invictus Games, Chelsea Flower Show and Wimbledon.
