Kate and Rio Ferdinand celebrate son Cree's 4th birthday with incredible safari as they feed giraffe
Kate and Rio Ferdinand marked their son Cree's fourth birthday with an incredible celebration. To mark their little boy's birthday, the family have been enjoying an incredible safari staycation at Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve to get up close to wildlife.
Kate, shares Cree with her husband Rio, while they are also parents to their daughter Shae, 16 months. The former The Only Way Is Essex star is also stepmum to Rio’s children, Lorenz, Tate, and Tia from his previous marriage. Sitting safely in a cosy wooden cabin with Champagne on ice, the family watched tigers prowling the reserve through a large window that allowed them to get up close to the action. The children were sat just inches away from the wildlife as the animals came right up to the glass.
Sharing a selection of snaps and clips on Instagram of their unforgettable birthday staycation, Kate captioned: "A very special birthday morning for our Cree Cree."

They also fed giraffes, with Kate showing off her gleaming pearly whites in one snap as one giraffe grabbed the leaf with its tongue. Another photo showed the couple's youngest child, Shae, wearing a sweet jumper to celebrate their sibling's birthday.
It comes after the birthday boy was rushed to hospital while on holiday in the Maldives last month.
Kate, who recently underwent a dramatic Halloween transformation, opened up about the terrifying incident on Instagram at the time as she shared a snap of her son in an ambulance and explained how they’d experienced “sleepless nights” since the hospital trip.
In a post uploaded to her Instagram Story, Kate, 33, recalled how her family’s “fabulous” trip away had ended on a rather unexpected note after Cree suffered a broken collarbone. In the emotional post, the TV personality could be seen supporting her son and giving him a kiss as he lay on a stretcher.
“We ended a fabulous trip with a broken collar bone My boy just always gets injured!!,” she wrote alongside the black and white snap. “It’s been sleepless nights, cuddles, TV & chocolate since”.
Kate also took to Instagram a few months back to celebrate her fifth anniversary with hubby Rio, 45, sharing a heartfelt tribute to the former football ace. She posted a throwback snap from their opulent wedding in Turkey, gushing: "5 years today My best friend Completely obsessed with us".
The couple said 'I do' in a dreamy oceanside ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey, in 2020, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
The former professional footballer Rio said at the time of their wedding, that “fate” had brought Kate into his life as the pair posed for photos in the Turkish sun.
On the big day he told OK!: “I definitely wasn’t looking for someone at that time. I didn’t think it was possible, I wasn’t open to bringing someone in to become a stepmum to the kids. Things don’t always go the way you imagine. Meeting Kate changed everything and sometimes it’s just fate.
"I knew Kate was special from the moment I met her, it was pretty instant, but seeing her with the kids cemented everything, that was a huge part of it for me.”
