Kate sports camo outfit as she braves the snow to visit the Irish Guards

The Princess of Wales isn’t one to let a little bit of snow get in the way of carrying out her duties on behalf of the Royal Family.

Kate, 41, was seen wearing a head-to-toe camouflage outfit as she visited the Irish Guards in Salisbury Plain earlier this week, swapping her regular royal attire for an all-khaki look.

For the visit, Kate wore a British Army MTP Smock jacket (£43), a pair of G-Star skinny cargo trousers (£95), and a pair of Berghaus Women's Brown Boots (£175).

The princess styled her hair into a neat braid and wore minimal make up. She fought off the cold by wearing a dark green turtleneck jumper underneath her jacket, and finished off the weather-proof look with thick, dark green socks.

Kate was appointed an honorary colonel of the Irish Guards at the end of last year, a role that was previously held by her husband, the Prince of Wales.

After his father, the King, ascended the throne, William was given Charles’s old title of colonel of the Welsh Guards and so his Irish Guards position was passed on to Kate.

“A snowy morning with the @irishguards on Salisbury Plain!” read a post shared on Kate and William’s Instagram marking the visit.

“The work of the Irish Guards is as wide-ranging as it is exemplary, from training park rangers on counter-poaching in East Africa to de-mining training for Ukrainian Armed Forces. Fantastic to be with ‘The Micks’ today seeing their hard work (whatever the weather!)”

Royal fans were quick to comment on Kate’s outfit on social media, with user @meganadele_ writing: “How is she so effortlessly cool?!?”

While a third, @eyechick61, said: “What an incredible woman and inspiration. Truly leads by example for her children and the world.”

During the visit, Kate participated in medical training exercises, learned to care for injured soldiers, and practised a battlefield casualty drill.

The Royal Family traditionally visit the Irish Guards to celebrate St Patrick’s Day which falls on 17 March – so there may be a possible second visit on the cards sometime next week.
