Kate Moss hates fashion trends
Kate Moss hates fashion "trends".
The 50-year-old supermodel - who has dabbled with design over the years - has admitted she can't stand seeing the same "shoe and bag" in every shop after inspiration from the runway trickles down to the high street and she believes an item becomes unwearable as soon as it starts to be fashionable.
During an appearance on Bella Freud's 'Fashion Neurosis' podcast, she explained: "I hate fashion codes. I hate like: 'Oh this bag's in fashion so everybody designs the same f****** bag.' I hate that kind of thing. Like oh this is fashionable so everybody has to have that in their shop. I really don't like that.
"Like I walked through the airport the other day and in every shop was the same shoe and the same bag from like every designer. I was like: 'What the f*** is the point in doing that?' I don't understand ... They might put it on the runway different but when it gets to the shop it's all the same.
"Like why? It's not fun when it's fashionable. You know like the trends. That's what they call them. The trends ... Trends are awful. [As soon as it's a trend] you can't wear it any more."
Kate went on to talk about the difference between the lives of models today and during her 1990s heyday and today - insisting they now spend way more time in hair and make-up for just one trip down the runway.
She said: "Then... some shows we'd have six looks. Now they have one look and they have like five hours of hair and make-up. The last show I did and [my daughter] Lila was in it. She had to be at the show at eight in the morning and the show wasn't until seven at night.
"I was like f****** hell what are they doing to her? ... I wouldn't get through that ... I'd turn up like half an hour before. It didn't matter if I turned up three hours before, I'd still be the last one to get ready anyway ... because I couldn't stop talking to everyone. I couldn't sit still."
