What would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday falls on 1 July – and Kate Middleton seemingly paid an early tribute to Prince William's late mother at a G7 summit dinner.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, joined other royals – who, as well her husband, included the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall – for Friday's evening event with world leaders at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Her white double-breasted coat dress was by Alexander McQueen, which she paired with nude heels and a floral-patterned clutch bag.

She also accessorised with a three-strand pearl bracelet – an item of jewellery that once belonged to Diana.

The stunning piece, created by designer Nigel Milne as part of a charity collection, was worn by the late princess on numerous occasions.

Diana famously slipped it on for a trip to Hong Kong in 1989, along with her iconic 'Elvis' dress and the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara.

Since being bequeathed it, Kate has been spotted wearing it at her own official engagements, including in Berlin in 2017 and during a 2018 tour of Sweden.

She is also in possession of the princess' sapphire and diamond engagement ring, given to her by the Duke of Cambridge when he in proposed in 2010.
