Kate Middleton and Prince William Were Spotted Together for the First Time Since Her Surgery
They were last seen together on Christmas.
This is not a drill: Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, were spotted together for the very first time since her abdominal surgery in January. Rumors have been circulating for weeks about Middleton's post-op recovery (i.e., crazy conspiracy theories and concern for Kate's well-being), and now the princess is subtly making her return to society.
On Monday, Kate and William were seen leaving Windsor Castle in a car in photographs obtained by the Daily Mail. The outlet notes that William was on his way to Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day service, though it is not clear where Middleton is headed. William will be joined by Queen Camilla and Princess Anne at the 2:45 p.m. ceremony.
Middleton and William were last spotted together at Christmas morning service in December with their three kids, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis. Earlier this month, however, Kate was also photographed in a car alongside her mother, Carole Middleton.
Middleton made headlines just this morning after a Photoshop snafu caused an internet frenzy. Over the weekend, the princess shared an image with her three kids in honor of the U.K's Mother Day, but after fans pointed out several editing errors, the image was taken down. Kate issued an apology on social Monday morning, explaining the reason behind the photoshop fail.
"Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing," she wrote in a screenshot shared on Instagram. "I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
Middleton isn't expected to make her official return to royal duties until after Easter.
