Kate Middleton and Prince William Celebrated King Charles's Birthday With the Sweetest Throwback Photos
Charles turned 75 today.
Congratulations are in order for King Charles, who celebrated his 75th birthday today. Yes, there was a bell ceremony at Westminster Abbey, but there was also a sweet tribute to the monarch that came via his son, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. The Cambridges posted a sweet tweet that showed a throwback photo of William and Charles on a ski trip as well as more recently images of the family together.
“Wishing His Majesty The King a very happy 75th birthday!” William and Kate’s team wrote on X and Instagram. They also added a festive birthday cake emoji to the images for a dash of fun.
People notes that the throwback après-ski image of William and his proud pops is from a 2004 trip to Klosters, Switzerland.
The second shot in the post was a photo of Charles from a tree planting at the British ambassador’s home during a state visit to France with Queen Camilla in September. Finally, the last picture was taken during this year's Trooping the Colour in June. It showed William and Kate alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla as well as the Cambridge kids: George, Charlotte, and Louis.
The official royal family social media page also commemorated Charles's big day, though it was via a greatest hits-style montage video, not a sentimental collection of photos. Milestones in the clip included Charles's investiture ceremony in 1969 and his 2005 wedding to Camilla. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Charles's three siblings, and both William and Harry also had cameos in the video.
