Kate Middleton’s intricate updo is the *perfect* springtime hairstyle

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, never fails to impress when it comes to hairstyles. From sleek glass-like hair to elegant bun updos, there's not much she hasn't dabbled in. After all, she must have the greatest glam squad in the world, right?! Fit for a Princess, some may say...

Now, while today's look is one that K-Mid has, in fact, ticked off the ever-growing hairspo roster, she has changed up its signature style with a twist. Alongside her husband, Prince William, as well as the majority of the British Royal Family, Kate attended the Commonwealth Day Service earlier this week, where she debuted the hairstyle.

For the occasion, the royal wore a stunning navy Erdem peplum jacket and skirt co-ord with a white embroidered print, complete with a matching hat and pumps. To accessorise, Kate added a special pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that previously belonged to Princess Diana. An ode to the late great royal.

For some, the standout aspect of the ensemble was perhaps the earrings but here on the Cosmo Beauty desk, all eyes were on the hair. With spring szn well on its way (despite this indecisive British weather of ours *rolls eyes*), we're preparing for a garden party-filled next few months. And so, with Aperol spritzes and plenty of Cosmopolitans (see what I did there?) on the agenda, it's only fair that we prep with an accompanying beauty look – and Kate's updo is perfect for the occasion.

Except, she seems to have put a delicious spin on her usual updos (somewhat literally), with a cinnamon knot-like twist. See the below pic that shows off her hairdo:

Anyone else hungry? Yeah, me too...

To achieve such glamour, Kate's hairstylist would have plaited sections of hair and bound them together in a bun at the nape of her neck. When recreating, be sure to secure in place with some extra strong hold hairspray and you are Good. To. Go.

BRB for I'm off to practise my plaiting skills – and grab myself a pastry while I'm at it!
