The bob is officially the cut of the season thanks to Kate Beckinsale's new look

Kate Beckinsale just gave us a lesson in the art of the summer cut courtesy of a chic blonde bob.

The actress, who turns 46 this week, took to Instagram to debut the choppy ‘do and inspired her followers (erm, guilty) to book a hair appointment in the process.

Beckinsale posted a handful of shots showcasing her latest heatwave-ready look via the social media platform and a large number of fans rushed to compliment the silver screen star’s new hair.

“Love your new look,” one commented. While a second agreed, writing: “Your hair looks amazing.”

“I need that hair”, another added. Yep, we couldn’t agree more.

Her all-new style is for forthcoming action film ‘Jolt’ in which Beckinsale plays a murderous bouncer.

Although after being spotted in the Wimbledon stands this summer sporting her trademark balayage waves, it’s most likely to be a wig.

Yet judging by the number of photographs she has posted of the tousled look so far, it seems she may well be tempted to keep the golden locks and we don’t blame her.

In fact, it seems the effortless ‘lob’ is fast becoming the ‘It’ hairstyle of the season with fellow A-listers also championing the trend in recent months.

Take Céline Dion for instance, who debuted a choppy shoulder-length cut during Haute Couture Fashion Week.

While the likes of Kim Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin and Irina Shayk have also been photographed flaunting the chic chop.
