With her popular makeup and fashion lines, it's easy to forget that Kat Von D is one of the most talented tattoo artists in the world, who originally found fame on reality TV show Miami Ink.

Seeing as Kat got her first tattoo at just 14 years old, it's understandable that by 37 she might have more than a few tattoos that she's no longer keen on.

While some of her most iconic designs include a cluster of her stars around her eyebrow, a red lipstick spelling 'Hollywood' on her stomach and 'Mi Vida Loca' (that's 'my crazy life' for all you non Ricky Martin fans) on her back. It seems that Kat was no longer happy with some of the older designs on her left forearm and decided to get a 'blackout' tattoo sleeve to cover them.

Taking to Instagram to share her new inking by artist HoodeTattoos, Kat wrote:

"I’m so in love with my new blacked out arm tattooed by @hoode215! 🖤 Can’t believe it only took him 1.5 hours - and it’s the most consistent, true black I have ever seen!
I feel so lucky to have @hoode215 guest spotting here at @highvoltagetat and excited to have him come back in regular basis! Go follow @hoode215 to see the most impressive black work ever!"

In comments - which now appear to have been deleted - some fans questioned Kat's decision to black out her entire arm, to which she responded:

"PS. it’s all good if you don’t like my tattoo, because I do! I had so many old crappy tattoos that over the years I tried lasering, then covered up that it just felt like a blurry mess. Having it all blacked out so beautifully looks so clean and smooth and I love that! It’s not for everybody, but I’m just so grateful that artists like @hoode215 exist and are masters of their craft!"

Love it, or hate it, someone else's tattoos are no one's business but their own. Although, if you're nosey like me and wondered what tattoos Kat covered up, I did the Instagram digging for you:
