Who Is Karol G’s Boyfriend, Feid?

Sparks are flying for Karol G and Feid.

The Colombian singer-songwriters first sparked dating rumors in 2021, when Feid (birth name Salomón Villada Hoyos) joined Karol on her first-ever headlining tour in the United States. Though the couple didn’t acknowledge the rumors at the time, they eventually confirmed their romantic relationship in 2023, after they were spotted holding hands in Miami.

Ahead, we break down everything you need to know about Feid.

He’s from Medellín, Colombia—which is also Karol’s hometown.

Like Karol, Feid was born in Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia. It is surrounded by the Andes Mountains.

Throughout his career in the music industry, Feid has been open about how his heritage inspires his work. “Everything that inspires my music—my muse, if you will—is and always has been my culture and everything that revolves around that,” he told People in 2021. “The most beautiful thing is seeing how artists from salsa and vallenato are so keen to the culture, and it has inspired me to also be an ambassador for our people.”

He is an accomplished musician and songwriter.

Feid (who also goes by the stage name Ferxxo) is known for releasing music influenced by a variety of genres, including reggaeton, hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeat. He has released six solo studio albums; the latest, Mor, No Le Temas a la Oscuridad, dropped in September 2023. His work has earned him nominations for the Latin Grammys, the MTV Europe Music Awards, the Billboard Latin Music Awards, among other honors.

In addition to being a successful solo artist, Feid has collaborated with major musicians like Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Maluma, and—naturally—Karol G.

“From the beginning, it was [my dream] to have a vision that only I could have and could spread to people and also surround myself with a team that understood what I wanted to do,” he told Billboard in March 2023. Referring to his stage name, which sounds like the Spanish word for faith, he added, “I have always had a lot of faith in myself and my career—and that is why Ferxxo is called ‘Feid.’”

He was the opening act for Karol’s Bichota Tour.

Karol tapped Feid to open for her 2021 Bichota Tour, which marked her first-ever headlining tour in the U.S.

At the time, she explained her choice in a statement to Billboard: “I was looking for an artist that I listen to a lot and that the exposure of my tour can also be a plus in their career. Besides, I love the fact that he’s from my country and my city, Medellin! I want to show the world where we come from. I’m very grateful for Feid and his team for joining this wonderful experience that will start soon.”

Feid expressed his gratitude to Karol, telling the outlet, “For me, it is going to be a huge door that is going to open. Ever since I began making music, for me, it is a dream to be able to tour in the USA and that Karol has given me the opportunity to accompany her by opening the shows is super important.”

Feid and Karol have collaborated on music together.

During the Bichota Tour, Feid and Karol worked together on the track “FRIKI.”

In 2023, Karol teased another unreleased collaboration with Feid during an interview with Rolling Stone. “It’s a song about heartbreak, which is the best part of it all,” she hinted. “[Feid] says, ‘I know you’ve thought of thousands of people and no one fits but... are you gonna let me get on that song?’”
