Film fans may be counting down the days until the hotly anticipated release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (aka Beetlejuice 2) lands in UK cinemas next month, a whopping 36-year wait for a sequel. But for fashion fans, it's all about the promo tour that's happening right now. With scheduled press stops around the globe for the film's cast, nothing else promises back-to-back celebrity 'fits in quite the same way.

Think about it – Dune 2 saw endless red carpet ensembles from the film's star, Zendaya, immediately followed by more of the same for her Challengers flick. We lost count of all of Margot Robbie's Barbie looks, while more recently Blake Lively wore as many as three outfits in one day.

Luckily, it seems Jenna Ortega is up for the challenge if her Beetlejuice tourdrobe so far is anything to go by. You'd be forgiven for thinking her latest ensembles are simply the Wednesday actress flaunting her trademark gothic style. But, just as Zendaya, Margot and Blake all opted for on-theme attire, Jenna is method dressing like a pro.

Even if you haven't seen the original 1988 comedy horror film, you'll no doubt recognise Beetlejuice's trademark black and white striped suit. While the actress' Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe skirt suit was an overt nod to the look, her other 'fits have all encompassed a monochrome colour palette in reference to the franchise. From her Cruella de Vil-like Agent Provocateur black and white satin corset paired with a Cider black satin skirt to her chainmail mini, both worn yesterday [Monday 19 August] in New York.

However, Jenna's most obvious sartorial homage came from her third outfit of the day when she donned a prep school chic navy blue cardigan, white blouse and plaid midi skirt.

Working with fashion stylist Enrique Melendez, Jenna's outfit courtesy of Thom Browne was an almost identical recreation of a costume worn by Winona Ryder's character, Lydia Deetz, in the original film. Fitting, as Jenna's role in the film is that of Astrid Deetz, Lydia's daughter.

Jenna paid further homage to the legendary Tim Burton movie with her choice of accessory, toting a top handle bag in the shape of a book that appeared to be titled, ‘Handbag for the recently deceased’. A play on the book, ‘Handbook for the recently deceased’ read by Winona's character in the original.

Yep, it doesn't get more on point than this. We can't wait to see what Jenna and Enrique have planned next.
