All About June's New Moon and What It Means for Your Zodiac Sign

June's full moon is nicknamed the Strawberry Moon, rising a few weeks after the new moon peaks on June 6 this year.
In comparison to the radiant glow of its full moon counterpart, a new moon blends in with the night sky. Despite a new mooon's faint appearance from Earth, its astrological energy will be present and significant for all zodiac signs.
PEOPLE's resident astrologer Kyle Thomas says new moon periods (which occur once every 28.5 days) "always open a doorway to us depending on where it falls for our Sun sign and in our natal charts." He notes there are "various astrological aspects" coloring this lunation, in particular.
The new moon unites with Venus upon its arrival, which Thomas says will put "emotions, relationships and feelings at the forefront of our thoughts and lives." This union, however, will be square with Saturn, which he says can cause "delays, challenges or frustrations" in our personal lives.
The planetary ruler of this lunation is Mercury, which will be united with Jupiter (the planet of luck and expansion) and linked in a "beautiful angle" to Pluto (the planet of transformation). Thomas says "we could experience tremendous positive or professional growth" with "an optimistic mindset."
Mars, meanwhile, clashes with Pluto, which Thomas says may cause "tempers to bubble up" around this time. "Trust your intuition now, but also utilize your communication skills to negotiate the best plans forward," he advises.

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Let your mind swirl with thoughts and ideas, Aries!
June's new moon will place an emphasis on communications and learning, which Thomas says will energize you to "take on important" writing and speaking initiatives. "You’ll also have a passionate vision you want to declare to the world," he adds.
The same new moon might also urge you to travel. If you can take a quick getaway to a nearby locale, Thomas says "you’ll be glad that you did!"
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
It may seem like money is always on the mind, Taurus.
But guess what! Thomas says June's new moon "could have you more energized" about finances than usual — perhaps even bringing you "a new job offer, raise, side-hustle or lucrative client" around the lunation.
He advises, "Focus on your finances and consider how you can build greater wealth in the year to come."
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
The spotlight's on you, Gemini!
June's new moon falls in your zodiac sign, which Thomas predicts may open a door "to pursue your greatest personal goals, plans and desires ... Consider the patterns you’d like to build toward in the year to come and get moving toward them now."
Fortunately, Thomas declares, "The universe is working in your favor!"
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
It's time to rest and relax, Cancer.
Thomas predicts June's new moon may have you feeling "a bit burnt out," making you excited "to lie low and recharge your batteries" as a result. Go with the flow and don't overexert yourself!
"This is an excellent time to daydream, brainstorm and focus on how you can improve your mental and physical health," he says.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Work it, Leo!
Thomas says "you’ll be feeling eager to show everybody how hot, sexy and popular you truly are" as the new moon jazzes up your social life. "Networking, attending events or even online dating are quite lucky for you now," he adds, "so get connected and have fun!"

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Shoot for the stars, Virgo!
Thomas predicts you'll "be quite focused on your ambitions and professional life" as the new moon kisses the crown of your sky during this lunation. "A promotion or new job offer from a competitive firm could pop up near this time."
Also, your work will likely be recognized now! Thomas says to expect "plenty of applause" as a result.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Open your mind, Libra!
Thomas predicts you’ll be feeling "ready to explore everything that life has to offer" as the new moon energizes your expansion zone. "Some Libras may decide to travel near this time or instead to go back to school."
If you’re feeling a spiritual vibe, Thomas says to "open up your heart and align with the universe" during this June lunation.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Thomas says to "get ready for a flame within your heart" as the new moon smiles gorgeously upon you. "Dating, courtship, fun, hobbies, creativity, sports and games will all be on the top of your mind."
He considers this lunation "one of the most significant periods of the year" for single Aquarians to "put themselves out there." If in a committed relationship, this could be a good time "for couples to reignite their flame."
