Judy Garland's Ruby Slippers Worth £4 Million To Go On Show In The UK

An original pair of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz that could be worth up to £4 million is set to go on display in London later this month. The iconic red sequin shoes, famously clicked together in the film's climactic scene as Garland's Dorothy declares, “There's no place like home,” are one of just four surviving pairs made for the 1939 classic - and experts have said they are the best preserved. The slippers will be exhibited at Heritage Auctions' London offices on Hanover Street from 28 November for several days, part of an international tour showcasing treasures of Hollywood history. The tour culminates in Los Angeles on 7 December, where the shoes will be auctioned with a guide price of £2.3 million to £3.8 million. Recovered by the FBI in 2018, the slippers have since been reunited with their owner, who has chosen to sell them. The upcoming auction and exhibition offer fans and collectors a rare chance to see and potentially own these timeless relics of Hollywood's golden age.
