Jude Law addresses demand for a sequel to Christmas movie The Holiday
The Holiday is a firm favourite when it comes to Christmas films, with the hit 2006 title remaining popular to this day. Starring Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, the festive rom-com never fails to be perfect viewing during December. It comes as no surprise that fans are eager for a sequel to The Holiday to be released, and now Hollywood star Jude, 51, has addressed the demand.
He reunited with director Nancy Meyers following his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on 12 December. Nancy, 75, who created and directed The Holiday, took to Instagram to share a clip of her meeting with Jude, sending fans of the 2006 festive film wild in the comments.
"Look who I'm having lunch with today. Jude Law! Congratulations on your so well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That's amazing," Nancy said in the video. The pair proceeded to share their excitement at having reunited for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Nancy added: "I don't think I've seen you since we wrapped The Holiday. Speaking of which, I've seen you've interviewed a lot, and they keep asking you if there's going to be a sequel. What do you think?" Jude then made reference his Mr. Napkin Head character from The Holiday as he reenacted the scene while other guests laughed.
Nancy's mention of a sequel had fans flocking to comment on the post, with one writing: "This is not the time of year to be messing around with our hearts, Nancy!" And another added: "For the love of god, please give us a sequel we are dying without a new Nancy Meyers movie!!!"
While there's been no official news of a sequel to The Holiday, Jude has previously addressed the possibility of seeing where Graham, Amanda, Iris and Miles are now, nearly two decades later. He told E! News that he "loves the idea" of a follow-up to the 2006 film, adding: "Why not?"
"I think Graham still has cardigans and glasses, and reads. He's probably worried sick about the girls, right? [His] daughters will be 28, 29," he added. The Holiday was released in December 2006 and proved to be an instant hit. The movie grossed over $205 million (£162m) against a budget of $85 million (£67m). It received mixed reviews at the time, with the actors being praised for their work while the plot was considered to be predictable by certain critics.
The Holiday is available to stream on Netflix and is also on Channel 5 on Christmas Eve at 11.15am
